Madaline F. (Artz) Bly
Madaline F. Bly, age 86, formerly of 20 E. Whitney Avenue, Shelby, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness.
She was born May 19, 1900 in Jackson Township, Richland County, the daughter of Jerry S. and Luella (Patterson) Artz.
Mrs. Bly is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs. Ross (Vivian) McKinney and Mrs. Hubert (Betty) Vail both of Shelby; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her huspand Ralph W. Bly in 1982, and by 2 brothers: Warren and Ivan Artz.
Mrs. Bly and her husband had been owners and operators of Bly Auto Supply in Shelby for 55 years. She Was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and the Ruth Gleaners Sunday School Class at the Church. She was a 50-year member of the Union Grange and had been
active with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Richland County fair board, and a former member of the Shelby firemans Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday any tlme after noon were the family will recelve friends form 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and left at the funeral home.
