Mabel M (Barnd) Crall
Mabel M. Crall, age 97, of Greenwich, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at The Good Shepherd in Ashland.
Mabel was born December 11, 1914 in Wood County, Ohio to the late John Martin and Grace (Harvey) Barnd and was a 1932 graduate of Shiloh High School. She was a member of Ruggles Church. Mabel and her husband, Bill, donated a parcel of virgin timber woods to the Ashland County Parks District and on October 16, 2004 the Pine Hill Park-Crall Woods was opened. www.ashlandcountyparksdistrict.com
Mabel is survived by 2 sons: Robert J. (Jinny) Crall of Buford, GA and Ronald W. (Kolleen) Crall of Greenwich; a daughter: Nancy (Douglas) Sweeten of Burlington, KY; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Virginia Barnd of Shelby; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Robert Crall on December 17, 2008; an infant son: Donald Crall; 2 sisters: Lela Swanger and Gladys Keesey; a brother: Merle Barnd.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 12 noon until 2 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 2 pm with Pastor Marty Daly of Ruggles Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army of Ashland, Ruggles Church, or Ashland County Park District.
