Mabel (Lehmkuhl) Grimwood
Mabel Grimwood, 74, of 11 Grimwood Drive, Shelby, died Thursday morning May 16 at her home after an extended illness. Born July 12, 1910 in Cross Village, MI, she was the daughter of Ben and Celia (Wenzlick) Lehmkuhl.
She retired in 1974 from the dietary department of Shelby Memorial Hospital where she worked as a cook. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are one son, Walter Grimwood of Shelby; three grandchilren; two brothers: Roy
Vincent of Ionia, MI; and Fred Bowsher of Jackson, MI; two sisters: Grace Johnson of
Athens, MI; and Fern Summers of Detroit.
She was preceded in death by one son and her husband, Ray (Babe) Grimwood, in 1961.
Public graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery, with her pastor, Rev. Carl Johnson, officiating. MemorIals may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Turner Funeral Home.
