Lyda “Alabam” Crain

Lyda “Alabam” Crain, age 91, formerly of East State Street in Shelby, died early Sunday Morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1900 in Raliegh, Norlh Carolina the son of Andy and Mary Crain.

Mr. Crain was a former employee of the Ohio Steel Tube Co. in Shelby and had attended the first Chruch Of The Nazarene in Shelby.

Mr. Crain is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Dianna and Michael Brady of
Shelby, Bonnie and Charles Ginter of Bellville, and Betty and Ron Stockwell of Akron; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: Howard and Connie Crain of Bellville and Robert Crain of Shelby; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Scenia Freeland of Chatsworth, Georgia; 1 brother: Sam Crain of San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Shirley Ann Crain in 1969 and Lillian Puckett in 1991 and by 2 brother and 1 sister.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where Funeral services will be held on Wednesday al 11:00 a.m. with his son-in-law, Rev. Charles Ginter officiating. Burial will be in Oaklarld Cemetery.

Memorial expressions may be made to the American Heart Association and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
