Lundy Wheeler, Jr.
Lundy Wheeler, Jr., age 61, of 40 Raymond Avenue, in Shelby, died Thursday morning at his home after an extended illness. He was born January 2, 1933 in Delbarton, West Virginia, the son of Lundy and Alice (Seagraves) Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was a retired employee of Quanex in Shelby and also had worked at Richland Chemical Company in Shelby. He was a member of the Temple Of Faith Church in Shelby.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife, Florence (Combs) Wheeler, whom he married on October 13, 1953; 5 daughters and 2 sons-in-law: Alice and Tim Mescher of Shelby; Rebbecca and Kirk Knicely of Mansfield; Janette Clevenstine of Bradenton, Florida; Annette Wheeler and Sadie Wheeler both of Shelby; 1 son and daughter-in-law, David and Lori Wheeler of Plymouth; 15 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Clifford Wheeler and John B. Wheeler both of Shelby; and Jimmy Wheeler of Delbarton, West VIrgInIa; 4 sisters: Corina Mahon of Shelby; Gloria Adkins, Mona Wheeler, and Patsy Wheeler all of Delbarton, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by 1 sister Goldie Wheeler.
Calling hours will be on Friday any time after 2:00 P.M. at the Temple of Faith Church on Taylortown Road in Shelby. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. at the church on Saturday, with his pastor Rev. Edward R. Gayheart and Rev. Clifford Cook officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
