Lucille M. “Honey” (Metzger) Stover

Lucille M. “Honey” Stover, age 81, of 51 Raymond Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at the Sunny Vee Nursing Home in Delaware after a short illness.

She was born June 17, 1918 in Shelby, the daughter of Anthony J. and Amelia K. (Mahl) Metzger. Mrs. Stover was a homemaker and a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and Shelby Memorial Hospital Guild. She had moved to Delaware recently and resided at the Sarah Moore Assisted Living Home.

She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas A. and Dianne Stover of Sparks, Nevada, Robert C. and Sue Stover of Shelby; a daughter, Sally Cline of Delaware; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 3 brother and 2 sisters-in-law: Otto and Norma Metzger, Wilfred “Boots” and Marty Metzger, and Edward Metzger all of Shelby; 3 sisters: Mary Clemens of Shelby, Ruth Ann Nichols of Mansfield, and Joannice Metzger of Maple Heights, Ohio; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Kenneth Stover in 1996; 2 brothers: George Metzger, Sr. and Albert Metzger; 3 sisters: Freda Metzger, Frances Leppert, and Rosemary Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where the rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at at 10:00 AM at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to Sunny Vee Nursing Home, Sarah Moore Home, or to the church.
