Lowell G. Strauch
Lowell G. Strauch, age 81, of 6647 Champion Road, Shelby, died Monday morning in Woodlawn Nursing Home in Mansfield, after a long illness. He was born May 10, 1913 in rural Shelby the son of Adam and Georganna (Pry) Strauch.
Mr. Strauch was a farmer all of his life. As a youngster he attended Gamble Country School, a one room school on Weidner Road.
He was an active member of the First United Church Of Christ where he was a deacon and a trustee. He was a member of the Jolly Club and the Shelby Equity Exchange, where he had been a past president.
Mr. Strauch is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Krichbaum) Strauch, whom he married on October 18, 1936; 1 daughter, Joycelyn Benedict of Daytona Beach, Florida; a sister-in-law,
Thelma Strauch of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother, Walter Strauch, 2 half sisters, Miriam Sheerer and Helen Strauch.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Church Of Christ with Rev. John J. Bradley, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, in Shelby.
