Lois H.(Riddlebaugh) Phelps
Lois H. Phelps, age 78, of Shelby, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Hospice House in Ashland.
She was born January 6, 1934 in Galion the daughter of the late Charles and Zora (Cleland) Riddlebaugh. Lois was a 1955 graduate of Ontario High School. She worked for many years as a welder at her brother’s business, American Tower Company in Shelby. She was a member of the Crestline VFW and loved playing dominoes and bingo. Lois’ favorite pastime was sending holiday greeting cards to all of her family and friends.
Lois is survived by a daughter: Dala (Tom) Greenslade of Shelby; 3 sons: Mark (Karen) Stickney of GA, Dale (Tanya) Stickney of SC, and Glen Stickney of SC; 6 grandchildren: Jennifer (Aaron) Tahan, Sherri (Chuck) Chandler, Pamela Stickney, Brittany Stickney, Elizabeth Greenslade, Nicholas Stickney; 3 great-grandchildren: Ryan and Rachael Chandler and Wyatt Tahan; a sister: Dala Roberts of Ontario; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Phelps and 7 siblings: Elwood Wingart, Mildred Long, Opal Mack-Hoffman, Cleland Wingart, Dorothy Southard, Betty Shira and Violet Bauer.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 2-4 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where a service celebrating Lois’ life will be held at 4 PM conducted by Pastor John Ross and Gaye Shira.
