To the family of Lois Castor:
I received a phone call a couple weeks ago from Mark, I think, and the message got erased, and I didn’t know how to reach you. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was a very special lady, and fellow musician. I remember singing in her choir at the Shelby First United Methodist Church, and for years when I would come back to the church and see her, she would always remember me. I’m sure that she will be missed by many, and I apologize for not returning your phone call. If I can do anything for you, please don’t hesitate to call.
Nancy

Dear Mark and Reed,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mother Lois. I remember
her fondly as my first music teacher at Dowds Elementary School. She was
kind and brave enough to allow me to accompany the choirs at Dowds for my
first attempts. She was always patient and accomodating
when I would beg to play piano for the class on music day. Teachers such as
she leave the best mark on their students. I am thankful that I knew her. Patti Prater Williams

I am so sadden to hear of the passing of Mrs. Castor. I had her as my music teacher for many years at Russel School. She was one of the reasons I have loved music to this day. She was a very good music teacher and a very lovely lady. I will miss her and I am sure all the kids from Russel School will miss her also.

My sympathy to the Castor family. Mrs. Castor was my music teacher at Dowds Elementary. I always looked forward to music class – Mrs. Castor had the coolest earings of anyone I knew – I was most fond of her “thermometer” earings!
