Lioba (Meester) Res

Lioba Res, age 88, of the Crestwood Care Center, died Friday evening at the care center. She was born March 22, 1902 in Sneek, Holland the daughter of A. and Elizabeth (DeGroot) Meester.

Mrs. Res was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richmond, Indiana.

Mrs. Res is survived by 1 son: Bernard Res of Shelby; 4 daughters: Elizabeth Doherty of Richmond, Indiana, Catherine Kelley of Hanover, Michigan, Bernarda Flinn of Steilacoom, Washington, and Wilhelmina Gelston of Issaquah, Washington; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Res in 1956.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richmond, Indiana. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Richmond.

Memorial expressions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The Turner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
