Leah A. (Hunter) McClead

Leah A. McClead, 75, of Myers Road, Mansfield, died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday in Mansfield General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 27, 1909 in Athens County, she was the daughter of Arthur and Althea (Brown) Hunter.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at Ingersoll-Humphreys in Mansfield (now Artesian Industries). She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and the Ruth Gleaners Sunday School Class at the church. She was a Gray Lady at Shelby Memorial Hospital, a member of Athens Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star for 58 years, and the Richland County Home Extension Agency.
Surviving is her husband, A.E. “Ed” McClead, whom she married June 1, 1928. Also surviving are
one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Benita) Kehl of Bellbrook; one son, Charles Eugene of Chicago, IL; and five grandsons.
She was preceded in death by five sisters.
Funeral service was held at 1:00 this afternoon at the First Lutheran Church with her pastor, Rev. Carl Johnson, officiating. Interment will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at North Bethel Cemetery in Athens County.
Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Turner Funeral Home.
