Lawrence A. Whisler, age 72, of 104 Shelby Avenue, Shelby, died Friday, January 28, 2005 at Crestwood Care Center after a short illness.

He was born July 4, 1932 in Shelby, the son of the late Paul Thomas and Elsie Rose (Gaupel) Whisler. Mr. Whisler was a former employee of the Shelby light plant.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lorraine (Craft) Whisler, whom he wed on August 29, 1974; 3 sons, Michael Whisler and Howard Whisler both of Mansfield and Stephen (Eileen) Whisler of Shelby; a daughter, Beth Ann Stover of Texas; a grandson, Michael Stover and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Whisler; 2 sisters, Susan (Richard) Kirkendall of Shelby and Rosemary Little of Florida; a brother George Whisler of Shelby; 5 step children; Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Howard and Carl Whisler and an infant son, Brian Whisler.

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
