Lauren H. Humphrey

Lauren H. Humphrey, age 90, of 24 Myrtle Drive, Shelby, died Friday, December 24, 1999 at the Heritage Care Center in Shelby after a short illness.

He was born March 25, 1909 in Ottawa County, Ohio the son of Luther and Bertha (Conkey) Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a 1927 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He was a farmer all of his life and had been employed at the Wilkins Air Force Depot and AMF both in Shelby.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma M. Taylor Chamblin Humphrey whom he wed on November 28, 1984; a son and 2 daughters-in-law: Ralph and Lena Humphrey of Shelby and Cecile Humphrey of Akron; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a step daughter-in-law, Grace Chamblin of Beallsville, Ohio; 5 step grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Marie Taylor Humphrey in 1984; a son, Ronald Humphrey in 1993; a granddaughter, Patricia Humphrey in 1955; and a sister, Rhea Southwell.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 28, 1999 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at
10:00 AM with Rev. Craig Jones, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
