Kevin Philson Cross

Kevin Philson Cross, age 33, of 379 Emerald Avenue, Mansfield, died Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 1998 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a five month battle with cancer.

He was born June 30, 1964 in Shelby. Kevin was a supervisor at Newman Technology, Inc. in Mansfield. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby and the Mansfield Moose Lodge #47. He was a 1982 graduate of Shelby Senior High School and Pioneer Joint Vocational School. Kevin Played third base on the Newman Technology softball team and enjoyed fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Christine (Howell) Cross, whom he married on November 30, 1985; 1 son, Devin Philson Cross at home; his mother and step-father, Janet (Ogle) and Robert Medors of Bellville; 2 sisters, Terra and David Boroff of Sunbury and Dr. Kristen and Scott Medors of Westerville; Mother-in-law, Annebelle (Beer) Howell of Plymouth; Father-in-law, Robert Howell of Shelby; 2 step brothers, Mike and Bob Medors; a step sister, Lynne Fellows; 2 brothers-in-law, Ryan and Bruce Howell; 9 nieces and nephews; Maternal Grandmother, Winifred Thompson of Bellville. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. F. Philson Cross in 1988.

Calling hours will be on Friday anytime after 1:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. The family will be present from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Don Christensen, pastor of the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church in Lexington, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
