Kenneth Earl Kegley

Kenneth Earl Kegley, age 85, of Shelby, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

He was born January 3, 1924 in Morehead, Kentucky the son of the late John William and Rosa Alice (Crose) Kegley.

Mr. Kegley was an employee of Mansfield Asphalt Co. retiring after 30 years of service. Kenneth served his country in World War II in the US Navy and was a life member of the VFW Post #291.

Survived by his children: Dennis Earl and Mary L. Kegley of Granville, Jack Allen and Alma Kegley of Shelby, James Lenville and Lisa Kegley of Mansfield, Sandra Kay and Jerry Lee Martin of Mansfield. 13 grandchildren. several great grandchildren. Brothers: Hollie M. and Diane Kegley of Virginia, James Cleo and Geri Kegley of Virginia. Sisters: Donna June and Don Kiser of Shelby, Della and Sherlin Horn of Shelby and Freda Chaffin of West Virginia, Sisters-In-Law: Margrete Luella Kegley of Shelby and Wanda Kegley of Shelby, Brother-In-Law: Kenneth Swanger of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by is wife, Mary Frances (Lewis) Kegley in 2005, a daughter: Rosemary Kegley, sons: Ronald Eugene Kegley and Gary L.ee Kegley, Brothers: Norman Lewis Kegley, Harley Dexter Kegley, John F. Kegley, Sisters: Audry Kegley, Mary Lou Kegley, Esther Swanger, Zenith Pearl Adkins.

Friends may call on Monday, July 20, 2009 from 9-11 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where Funeral services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Dale Adkins, pastor of Mansfield Baptist Temple, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with military honors conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
