Kenneth Conley
Kenneth Conley, age 63, of 206 Water Street, Tiro, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.
He was born November 27, 1941 in Knott County, Kentucky. He was in the last graduating class from Tiro High School in 1960 and served with the United States Army in Korea. Ken retired in 2002 from Copperweld Shelby after 42 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. Hunting, fishing, and golfing were some of his favorite pastimes.
Ken is survived by his wife, Ruth (Ewing) Conley, whom he wed on January 30, 1971; 2 daughters, Heather Conley of Shelby and Alicia (Travis) Shepherd of Shelby; 5 grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kyler and Branson Conley, Destiny and Logan Shepherd; his mother, Mae (Combs) Dudley of Tiro; 2 brothers, Don (Linda) Conley and Dan (Marsha) Conley all of Tiro. He was preceded in death by his father, Jason Conley and his stepfather, John Dudley.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 9, 2005 from 2-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM with Rev. S.T. Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Tiro with military honors conducted by the Shelby American Legion.
