Kathryn E. (Hertzer) Artz

Kathryn E. (Hertzer) Artz, age 40, of 2843 State Route 96 East, Shelby, died Friday afternoon at her home after an extended illness. She was born April 21, 1954 in Fremont, Ohio.
Mrs. Artz was a homemaker. She was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and also attended and was active at Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was an 11 year trustee and phone volunteer for “FISH”. She was past president and had held various offices in the Central Elementary School P.T.O., She was past president and secretary of the North Central Ohio Branch Of Empress Chinchilla Breeder Co-operative, and was a member of the financial committee of Shelby Helpline. She was a 1972 graduate of Fremont St. Joseph High School.
Mrs. Artz is survived by her husband, Jerry D. Artz whom she married on July 10, 1976; 2 sons, Brian E. Artz and Alan D. Artz at home; 1 daughter, Renee A. Artz at home; her parents, Richard G. and Mary A. (Larkins) Hertzer of Fremont; her father and mother-in-law, Dean and Grace (Hollenbaugh) Artz of Mansfield; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Hertzer of Clyde; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, James Hertzer of Fremont, and Joseph and Vicki Hertzer of Jacksonville, Florida; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Joseph Sonderman III of Columbus, Teresa and David Metcalf of Portland, Oregon, and Susan and Jeff Lemmon of Clyde.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Hertzer and by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Alice Larkins.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where a wake service will be held Monday at 8:30 P.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father John C. Missler and Rev. J. Malcolm Brook officiating. Burial will be in Little London Cemetery in Shelby.
