Julia A. (Brown) Carpenter

Julia A. Carpenter, age 87, of Old Mill Run Road, Mansfield, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Heritage Care Center in Shelby after a short illness.

She was born October 6, 1921 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky the daughter of the late William and Eliza Jane (Crisp) Brown. Julia was a 26 year employee of AMF in Shelby and was a former member of Taylortown Community Church. She enjoyed crocheting and visiting relatives.

Julia is survived by her son and his wife, James and Marguerite Hudson of Mansfield; 2 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, Oliver and Winnajean Brown of Fairborn, Ohio, Paul and Jewell Brown of Shelby and Dorothy Brown of Shelby; a sister and brother-in-law, Manda and Amos Williams of Newark, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband James Carpenter in 1990, 3 brothers, Homer Brown, Elbert Brown, Charles Brown and a sister, Oma Markwell.

Friends may call on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:30 AM by her brother-in-law, Amos Williams. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.On-line condolences may be made at penwellturner.com
