Joy M. (Stevens) Connelly

Joy M Connelly, age 85, formerly of 68 Walnut Street, Shelby, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.

She was born July 25, 1921 in Willard, Ohio the daughter of the late Henry Webster and Susan (Fackler) Stevens. Joy was a homemaker most of her life, but had also worked at Wilkens Air Force Depot and the Shelby Autocall.

Joy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Ellen Connelly, of Shelby; 3 grandchildren, Susan Porter, Ben Connelly, and Jennifer Taylor; 3 great grandchildren, James Robinson, Caleb Robinson, and Eric Robinson; and one sister, Iva Jean Sisinger, of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jack Connelly in 1979; one son, Jack Allen Connelly; a daughter, Sandra Sue Connelly; 6 brothers, Joseph Stevens, Robert Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Carlton Stevens, Orvel Stevens, and Donald Stevens; 4 sisters, Roberta Ebinger, Bertha Conklin, Carol Stevens, and Helen Stevens; and one great grandson, Benjamin Robinson.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where Pastor Robert Matney officiated. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. As per Joy’s wishes, her obituary was not published until after the funeral service.
