Josephine (Zerbo) Needs

Josephine Needs, 70, of 1269 Steward Rd., Steward, IL, and formerly of Shelby, died Tuesday evening in St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL after a long illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1921 in Catania, Italy the daughter of Francisco and Guiseppa Zerbo, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Needs, whom she married April 26, 1947; four sons: George Needs, Charles Needs, Jr., and Joseph Needs, all of Mendota, IL, and Gordon Needs of Palm Springs, CA; four daughters: Mrs. Bart (Marjorie) Rhodes of Troy Grove, IL, Mrs. Joel (Carolyn) Gilbertson and Charlene Needs, both of Renton, WA, and Mrs. Donald (Jannette) Thompson of Rochelle, IL; 26 grandchildren; one brother and two sisters all living in Italy
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ellen Needs, in 1949; and a son, David Needs, in 1980.
Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Turner Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Father John C. Missler, pastor of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
