Josephine Elizabeth “Jo” Snyder
Josephine Elizabeth “Jo” Snyder, age 83, of 19 Third Street, Shelby, died unexpectedly Saturday evening in Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.
She was born December 19 ,1911 in Shelby the daughter of Andrew and Connie (Ferrell) Snyder.
Miss Snyder retired in 1976 after 40 years of service with the Shelby Sales Book. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was serving as a shepherd, A.A.R.P., Shelby Business and Professional Womens Club and the Thursday afternoon Card Club. She was a volunteer for the Shelby Memorial Hospital Guild.
Miss Snyder is survived by 6 cousins, Mary Ferrell of Mansfield, Albert “Pete” Ferrell of Shiloh, Betty Willet of Shelby, Jay Snyder of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, James Packard of Sacramento, California, and Doris Stough of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. June Fryman, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Shelby, and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
