John W. “Jack” Dority
John W. “Jack” Dority, age 76, of 42 Plum Avenue, Shelby, died unexpectedly Monday evening in the emergency room at Mansfield General Hospital. He was born November 9, 1916 in Toledo, Ohio the son of Charles and Blanche (McDonnell) Dority. He was a Castalia resident for many years.
Mr. Dority retired in 1976 from the Ford Motor Company in Sandusky after 22 years of service. He was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and the Shelby Moose Lodge.
Mr. Dority is survived by his wife, Carmelita “Nici” (Robertson) Dority whom he married on October 12, 1968; 1 son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Donna Dority of Sandusky and 1 daughter and son-in-law: Colleen and Larry Dwight of Miamisburg, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Catherine Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 3 sisters.
Calling hours will by held on Wednesday from 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Shelby. A Christian Wake service will be held on Wednesday evening at
8:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorial expressions may be made to the St. Mary School endowment fund and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
