John F. Kegley, Sr.

John F. Kegley, age 68, of 511 North Morrison Street, Nevada, Ohio, died Thursday,
May 16, 2002 at Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospitals in Columbus after an extended illness.
He was born, August 29, 1933 in Shelby, the son of the late John William and Rosa Alice (Crose) Kegley. He was a 1952 graduate of Shelby High School. Mr. Kegley served in the
United States Air Force for 24 years, serving in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring as a Tech Sergeant. After his retirement, he worked 15 years for the Dana Corp. in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was a member of Shelby V.F. W. George Broderick Post #291 and Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326.
Mr. Kegley is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: John F. and Rita Kegley, Jr. of
Bucyrus, Joseph William and Bridget Kegley of Bucyrus, and Jason Edward Kegley of Nevada; 3 grandchildren; 3 brothers: Earl Kegley of Shelby, Jim Kegley and Hollie Kegley both of Bracey, VA; 5 sisters: Esther Swanger, Zenith Adkins, and Della Horn all of Shelby; Donna Kiser of Las Vegas, NV, and Freida Chaffin of Kermit, WV.
He was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Allen Kegley in 1982; 2 brothers: Norman and Harley Dexter Kegley; 2 sisters: Mary Lou Kegley and Audra Kegley.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Donald W. Lambert, pastor of Sharon Christian Church in Bucyrus officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with military honors.
