John E. Baker
John E. Baker, 42, of 2163 Myers Road died Sunday evening after suffering an apparent heart attack at home.
Mr. Baker was born March 25, 1949, in Wellington, and was the bar manager at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 763 of Shelby, where he also served as treasurer. He was a member of the American Legion O’Brien Post 326 of Shelby; a life member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars George Broderick Post 291 of Shelby; and a member of the Shelby AMVETS, where he served as a trustee. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam era.
Mr. Baker is survived by his mother, Emma Weber Baker of Shelby; a sister and brother-in-law,
Jane and James Brown of Worthington; and a nephew, James Todd Brown of Dublin. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur P. Baker, in 1987.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home. Private graveside
services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
