Jean E. (Bookwalter) Benedict Moyer

Jean E. Benedict Moyer, age 72, of 2186 Cornwall Drive in Xenia, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at her home. She was born February 23, 1921 in Mansfield, the daughter of Charles L. and Lydia (Taylor) Bookwalter.

Mrs. Moyer was a homemaker and had been a former employee of the Shelby Cycle Co.

She is survived by her husband Myron D. Moyer, whom she married on April 24, 1991; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Ralph Robert and Sheran Benedict of Arizona; 5 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; 1 step-daughter and her husband, Deborah and Paul Gultice of Xenia; 2 brothers, Wilbur and Charles Bookwalter both of Mansfield; 1 sister, Edna Stevens of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ralph L. Benedict in 1982; 1 brother Don Bookwalter; and a daughter Linda Benedict in 1944.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday one half hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, in Shelby, with the Rev. J. Malcolm Brook, Pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
