Janice K. Brooks

Janice K. Brooks, age 60, of 41 East Whitney Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital after a short illness.

She was born May 14, 1943 in Mansfield. She had been a dietitian at the Crestwood Care Center for the past 13 years. She was a member of the Taylortown Community Church. She collected dolls, bells, salt and pepper shakers, and enjoyed embroidery and flower gardening.

Janice is survived by her husband: Earl Thomas Brooks, whom she wed on June 3, 1961; 2 sons: Rick and his wife, Robin Brooks of Mansfield, Michael Brooks and his companion, Deborah Mosher of Savannah; 4 grandchildren: Amber, Nathan, Chris, and Tiffany Brooks; Her mother: Vera (Moler) Searls of Ashland; a sister: Doris Fay Shenberger of Ashland; a brother: Dale Searls of Ashland. She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Searls and a sister Evelyn.

Friends may call on Friday, May 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday at the Taylortown Community Church with Rev. O. Douglas Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Richland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
