Janet L.(Scott) Argo
Janet L. Argo, age 75, of Shelby, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.
Janet was born on October 20, 1935 in Cardington, Ohio to the late Paul R. and Marjorie M. (Benedict) Scott. In 1997, she retired from Pioneer Career and Technology Center from the custodian and security departments after 16 years of loyal service. Prior to Pioneer, she worked at North Electric in Galion, Shelby Standard, and AMF, both located in Shelby. Janet was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Shelby and enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and traveling. She loved spending time with the members of TOPS and her McDonald’s Friends and also cherished family get-togethers.
Janet is survived by: a daughter, Vickie L. Oehlhof of Shelby; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don K. Roberts and William L. and Judy Roberts, both of Shelby; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jill Roberts, a brother, Jerry L. Scott, and a sister, Phyllis J. Corlett.
Friends may call on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Richard Leo Rader officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
