James W. Bricker

James W. Bricker, 84, formerly of 60 Louise Drive, died Oct. 9 in Crestwood Care Center.

Mr. Bricker was born July 7,1909, in Shelby, to Riley P. and Mary Martha Gilchrist Bricker.

He was the owner of Bourgeois Pontiac Co. in Shelby for many years. After his retirement, he was a real estate salesman for Harold Heitzman. Mr. Bricker was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Shelby Elks, the Shelby Masonic Lodge 350 F&AM, and a past member of the Shelby Rotary Club where he had served as president.

Mr. Bricker was a graduate of Shelby High School, where he had been president of his class, and was a 1931 graduate of Wittenberg University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was also an avid piano player.

He is survived by a daughter and son- in-law, Lynn and Charles Ruehl of Cincinnati and two granddaughters, Kelley and Julie Ruehl.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. Bricker, in 1989 and by a sister, Mabelle Daugherty.

Calling hours will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Carl L. Johnson. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church in care of the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
