James Lloyd Royer
Joseph Lloyd Royer, age 90, formerly of 37 Second Street, Shelby, died Monday July 8, 1996, in the Winchester Terrace Nursing Home in Mansfield after a long illness.
Mr. Royer was born August 9, 1905 in Bellevue, Ohio the son of Joseph L. and Mahala (Welch) Royer. He moved to Shelby in 1929.
Mr. Royer was a graduate of Bellevue High School and had been employed as a projectionist at the Castamba Theater in Shelby for 37 years. He also had worked at Roethlisberger Transfer Company in Shelby.
He was member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley Of Cleveland, Mansfield Council #94, Shelby Masonic Lodge #350 F and AM, and Chapter 178 Royal Arch Masons where he served as Past High Priest.
Mr. Royer is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Joseph L. and Carol Royer of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce (Bonecutter) Royer in 1975, a brother, Louis Royer and a sister, Florence Royer.
Calling hours will not be observed. Private graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery.
