James Leonard Rietschlin

James Leonard Rietschlin, age 33, of 212 North Main Street in Tiro, died unexpectedly Monday. He was born April 8, 1960 in Crestline.

Mr. Rietschlin was a repairman for Sears in Mansfield. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem and was on village Council in Tiro. He was a 1978 graduate of Buckeye Central High School in New Washington and had attended Pioneer Joint Vocational School.

Mr. Rietschlin is survived by his wife, former Upper Sandusky resident, Victoria (Swartz) Rietschlin whom he married on November 19, 1986; 2 sons: Alexander James Rietschlin and Aaron Lee Rietschlin both at home; his parents: Leonard and Idonna (Alt) Rietschlin of Crestline; 1 brother: Patrick Rietschlin of Crestline; 7 sisters and 4 brothers-in-law: Cecelia Tuttle of Crestline, Joan and Joseph Raccuia of Dublin, Ohio, Sara and Kim Tubergen of Angola, Indiana, Lora and Lee Brenneman of Crestline, Mary Lu and Mark Howell of Lebanon, Ohio, Kathleen Rietschlin and Lisa Rietschlin both of Columbus, Ohio; his maternal grandmother: Cecile Alt of Shelby; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Rietschlin in 1959; a brother-in-law, Denzil Tuttle in 1992; his maternal grandfather, Eugene Alt; and by his paternal grandparents: Charles and Bertha Rietschlin.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where a Christian wake service will be held Wednesday evening at 8:45 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.

Memorial expressions may be made to an educational fund for his children and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
