James J. Cattey
James J. Cattey, age 66, of 3139 Hummel Road, Shelby, died Tuesday morning at his home after an extended illness. He was born July 13, 1922 in Shelby the son of Ellsworth and Lena (Pelletier) Cattey.
Mr. Cattey is survived by his wife Eva Mae (Jenkins) Cattey, whom he married on Feb. 9,1946; by 2 daughters: Mrs. James (Shirley) Cole of Crestline and Mrs. Ronald (Ginny) Rounsevell of Shelby; 4 granddaughters; 3 brothers: Leo of Florida, Joe and Emmett both of Shelby; 3 sisters: Mrs. John (Kathleen) Farnwalt, Mrs. Orville (Mary) LaBarge and Blanche Cattey all of Shelby. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Irene Kress and Elenora Moritz.
Mr. Cattey retired from CPC Mansfield Ontario plant in July 1988 and prior to that, he was the owner of Cattey’s Plumbing and Heating in Shelby. He was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby, Knights of Columbus Council #1968 and Shelby V.F.W. He was an army veteran of World War II.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with his pastor the Rev. John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Shelby
American Legion. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where a Christian Wake service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Memorial expressions may be made to Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church or to Hospice and left at the funeral home.
