Jacque L. Kaler, Jr.
Jacque L. Kaler Jr., 40, of 470 Egleston Ave., Kalamazoo, Michigan, died Friday afternoon, the result of an automobile accident in Kalamazoo.
He was born November 4, 1946 in Shelby and had been a Kalamazoo resident since 1979. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kalamazoo, where he was presently establishing the church library. He was a member of the church choir, and was a teacher in the Royal Rangers and Rainbows Youth Groups. He was a 1964 graduate of Shelby Senior High School, receiving his bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University and his Masters Degree in Library Science from Western Michigan University.
He is survived by his wife; Myrna J. (Porte) Kaler, whom he married on June 27, 1970; one son Matthew at home; and one daughter Theresa at home. His parents: Jacque and Millie Kaler of Shelby; his maternal grandmother, Vera Pry of Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Zante Jane in 1964.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 A.M. at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby by the Rev. Dr. Carl G. Beighley, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening fran 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church Library fund and left at the funeral home.
