Jack E. Shepherd, age 81, of 3730 Brokensword Road, Bucyrus, and formerly of Shelby, died Monday morning, May 17, 2004 at the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness.
Jack was born July 30, 1922 in Toledo, OH the son of the late Carroll and Nora (Keill) Shepherd. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Toledo where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He was employed at the Norwalk Truck Lines and Westinghouse, and retired from the U-Brand Corp. in Ashland.
He is survived by 3 daughters and spouses, Carol and Gerald Ferguson of Bucyrus, Cathy and James England of Galion, Sue Chandler of Shelby; a son and spouse, Fred Jan and Toni Fair of Norwalk; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Hogg of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary (Lybarger) Shepherd in 1993, a grandson, Patrick Fair, a granddaughter, Christina Hoskins, and a brother, Robert Shepherd.
Private graveside services for Jack and his wife, Mary, will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with Rev. Steven C. Bond, pastor of First Lutheran Church, officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to Christie Lane School in Norwalk or American Diabetes Association. Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby is assisting the family.
