J. Lloyd Hess

J. Lloyd Hess, age 79, formerly of 12 Oak Street, Shelby, died Wednesday evening, July 31, 1996, in the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio. He was born June 12, 1917 in Springfield, Ohio the son of John Leon and Bessie (Rettig) Hess.

Mr. Hess was a long time agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby, the Shelby Rotary Club, Shelby Masonic
Lodge 350 F.& AM. and Shelby Chapter #178 R.A.M.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Michael Weber of Columbus, Indiana; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, George Hess of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Bob Hess of Springfield, Ohio and Dick Hess of Springfield, Ohio; 2 sisters, Marjorie Allen of Springfield, Ohio and Mildred Gudenkauf of Fairfield, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann (Seeley) Hess in 1987.

Calling hours will be on Saturday from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. James Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby or to the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield and left in care of the funeral home.
