Irilla (Donovan) Myers

Irilla Margaret Myers, age 97 a resident of the Heritage Care Center in Shelby the last 8 years, and formerly a 66 year resident of Crestline, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Triumph Hospital of Mansfield.

Irilla was born June 4, 1909 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Anna (Frye) Donovan. She was a 1926 graduate of Gary High School in Gary, Indiana and a 1930 graduate of Indiana University. She worked as a retail buyer for O’Neil’s Department Store in Mansfield for many years retiring in 1958. She was a 50 year member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She and her late husband, Ervin, traveled extensively throughout the United States visiting every state except Alaska. She was an avid reader. Irilla enjoyed following her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Crestline.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann B. Imhoff of Shelby; a son, J. Max and Linda Myers of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Her grandchildren and their spouses, Martha and Jon Penwell and Tom and Tammy Imhoff all of Shelby, Deborah and Howard Dials of Mansfield, Reece W. Barlow of Shelby, Brandon Myers, Jason Myers, Joe Myers, and Brett Myers all of Wisconsin; Several great grandchildren including, J.Colton Penwell, Jacob Penwell, Jarrett Imhoff, Matthew Imhoff all of Shelby and Peter Dials, Jason Dials and Ryan Dials of Mansfield; Several great great grandchildren 3 cousins, John Alford of Arizona, William Alford of New Jersey, and Ann Alford of Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin J. Myers in 2002, by a son, E. William Barlow, and a son-in-law, Thomas H. Imhoff.

Friends may call on Monday, May 7, 2007 from 10-11 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home conducted by Deacon Steven Keller. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.
