Irene Laudema (Reynolds) Zehner
Irene Laudema Zehner, age 91, formerly of 113 Park Village, Shelby, died early Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at the Crestwood Care Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Zehner was born July 12, 1908 in Fitchville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Phoebe (Easterday) Reynolds. She was a graduate of New London High School and attended Oberlin College. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church–where she was the organist for many years–the Christian Womens Fellowship and the Loyal Mens and Womens Sunday School Class at the church, Golden Agers, Navy Mothers, and AARP. She had been a volunteer for the Shelby Ministerial Association Christmas Program for over 25 years.
She is survived by 4 sons and daughters-in-law: David and Naomi Zehner of Dumfries, Virginia, Bill and Noreen Zehner, Thomas and Judy Zehner, Richard and Linda Zehner all of Shelby; 21 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joseph Flaherty of Norwalk; a
sister-in-law, Mary Frances Zehner of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling E. Zehner in 1986; a grandson, Kenneth Zehner; 2 brothers, Lloyd and Layton Reynolds; her twin sister, Arlene Flaherty; and 3 great grandsons.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby,
where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Craig Jones officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
