Irene E. (Jones) Binion
Irene E. Binion, age 80, of 16 Myers Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday afternoon in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extened illness.
She was born September 12, 1913, in Carter County, Kentucky the daughter of Ezekiel and Louvina (Henderson) Jones. Mrs. Binion was a homemaker.
She is survived by 5 daughters and 4 sons-in-law: Henrietta “Betty” and James Menshouse of Ashland, KY, Darlene and Wilmer Damron of Waverly, Ellen and George Payne of Shelby, Sheila and Michael Boorom of Plymouth, and Carol Wireman of Galion, Ohio; 1 son and daughter-in-law,
William E. “Ed” and Judy Binion of Shelby; 23 grandchildren including Jeff Binion and Carl Hench with whom she resided; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Vesta Binion of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Binion in 1970, a daughter, Dorothy Hench in 1980 and by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Graveside services will be on Saturday at 2:00p.m. at the Fultz Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky with Elder Owen Cox, officiating.
