Irene C. (Kurtzman) Whisler

Irene C. Whisler, age 82, formerly of 81 East Whitney Avenue, died Monday evening, October 28, 1996, in the Heritage Care Center after a long illness. She was born November 17, 1913 in Vernon Township, Crawford County, Ohio the daughter of George and Mary
(Seifert) Kurtzman.
Mrs. Whisler was retired from the bakery department of Cornell’s IGA and prior to that had worked at Bowsher’s Bakery in Shelby. She was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Chew of Shelby, Florence and Warren Schneider of Shelby, & Mary and David Metzger of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 sister Rosemary Merkley of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Whisler in 1968,
3 brothers, Leo, Joseph and Francis Kurtzman, 1 sister, Marjorie Kasper and 1 granddaughter Debra Schneider.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at
10:30 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
