Irene Belle (Hawk) Danine

Irene Hawk Danine, age 75, of 22 Park Village, died Saturday evening in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness. She was barn November 19, 1915 in Shelby the daughter of Howard and Faye (Stover) Hawk.

Mrs. Danine retired in 1977. She had been a secretary at Pioneer Joint Vocational School and prior to that she had owned Irene’s Beauty Shop in Shelby. She was a member of A.A.R.P.

Mrs. Danine is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Cindy Davis of Galion; 1 daughter, Paula Davis of Boise, Idaho; 2 grandchildren: Dennis A. Davis of Mansfield and Louise Sanders of Shelby; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Robert Hawk and Stewart Hawk both of Shelby; 2 sisters: Eunice Davis of Shelby and Evelyn Yarman of New Port Ritchie, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Danine in January 1991 and by 1 brother Donald Hawk.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Lyle Hinkle, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby, officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
