Inez C. (Hutt) Artz

Services for Inez C. Artz, 87, of 59 Harriette Drive, who died Friday, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home by her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home where Eastern Star services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m.

Born Sept. 15, 1901, in Shelby to the late John and Rhea (Bender) Hutt, Mrs. Artz was a former employee of Keil’s Dry Goods Store. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Ruth Gleaner’s Sunday School class, AARP and Rizpah Chapter 153 Order of Eastern Star, where she served as worthy matron in 1953 and deputy in 1957.

Surviving are her husband, Roscoe A., whom she married March 3, 1920; two daughters: Mrs. Lewis (Doris) Ernsberger of Roy, Utah, and Mrs. Kenneth (Janis) Hageman Jr. of Mobile, AL; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Howard; a granddaughter; two brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Shelby Public Health League.
