Ida L. (Lewis) Hamilton

Ida L. Hamilton, age 95, of Earl Avenue, Shelby, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness.
Ida was born April 16, 1912 in West Liberty, Kentucky the daughter of the late Pearlie Catherine and Alvin William Lewis. She attended Morehead State College in Morehead, Kentucky and taught school in Kentucky until she started raising her family. She was a member of the Shelby Congregation Of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She wrote beautiful poetry and enjoyed gardening.
Ida is survived by her children, Darrell and Sara Hamilton of Columbus and Janice and Frank Sayre of Yuma, Arizona; 4 grandchildren, Randy and Terri Hamilton of Columbus, Sharyn and Robert Baldwin of San Diego, CA, Steve Sayre of Yuma, Arizona and Daniel Sayre of Phoenix, Arizona; 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister, Rosalind Lewis of Montana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Hamilton in 1985, 3 brothers, Jessee, Arlie, and Amos Lewis, 3 sisters, Etta Mae Lewis, Grace Caskey and Florence Foote.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, from 11:30 AM -1:00 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Larry Keinath officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
