Ian Paul Winters
Ian Paul Winters, age 17, of 113 Knoll View Circle, Shelby, died Monday March 27, 2006 at his home following complications of pneumonia. Ian was born a premature twin and had multiple medical problems, including cerebral palsy.
Ian was born October 2, 1988 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Paul K. and Karen S. (Kirkendall) Winters. Ian attended the multi handicap classes in Shelby City Schools. He was baptized at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Although Ian was unable to communicate, he enjoyed listening to country music and the time he spent with his family and friends.
Surviving along with his parents are two brothers, his twin,
Bryce Winters, and Chase Winters both at home; Maternal grandparents, Richard and Susan (Whisler) Kirkendall of Shelby; Paternal grandparents, Marilyn (May) Winters of Shelby and Merle Winters of Ft. Myers, Fla.; Special caregivers, Gladys Krous of Mansfield and Julie Sanchez of Lexington; Aunts and Uncles, Joan and Andrew Billman, of Columbus, Pam and Trace Weisenburger of Montana, Dan and Diane Winters , Terry and Tricia Winters, Linda Wills and Mike and Cathy Winters all of Shelby; Cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Jean Ann Kirkendall.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery with Rev. David Carter, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating.
