Howard E. Dickson
Howard E. Dickson, 87, of 55 Wood Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44903, died Saturday, November 22, 1997, at Mansfield Memorial Homes.
He was born December 29, 1909 in Canton, Ohio the son of Grover and Pearl (Boyce) Dickson. He was a Mansfield area resident most of his life. He retired in 1969 as a captain in the detective bureau of the Mansfield Police Department after 25 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at Tappan Stove Company and farmed. He was a 1927 graduate of Union High School. Mr. Dickson was a member of the Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church, Fraternal Order of Police, Police and Firemen’s Disability and Pension Fund, Mansfield Masonic Lodge # 35 F and AM. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Dickson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice L.(Forquer) Dickson, whom he married on February 15, 1930; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. G. James and June Dickson of Oxnard, Calif.; Larry Gene and Frances Dickson of Abbeville, La.; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church on Lexington Springmill Road, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Gene Witzky officiating. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorials to the church. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Turner Funeral Home, Shelby.
