Horace Mahon

Horace Mahon, age 68, of 46 Sherman Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday, April 09, 2003, at Med Central Shelby Hospital after a short illness.

He was born December 30, 1934 in Delbarton, West Virginia the son of the late Van Buren and Lurinda (Runyon) Mahon. He was a former employee of the Shelby Street Department.

He is survived by his son and spouse, Joe and Kendra Mahon of Shelby; 5 daughters and spouses, Diana Armstrong of Shelby, Marsha and Mark Humphrey of Wakeman, Marilyn and Doug Sexton of Shelby, Marinda and Ron Milligan of Shelby, and Fawnie Leto of Cleveland, Texas; 21 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lane and Lewis Mahon both of Shelby; 3 sisters, Effie Murphy of Columbus, Edna Murphy of Pleasant City, OH, and Elizabeth Eppling of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corena (Wheeler) Mahon in 1996, 3 brothers, Van, Troy, and Woodrow Mahon, a sister, Virgie Murphy.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, April 11, 2003 at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with Rev. Steven C. Schag officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to the family in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
