Herbert W. Clabaugh

Herbert W. Clabaugh, age 72, of 3334 Hummel Road, Shelby, died Sunday morning in Mansfield General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born September 26, 1917 in Shelby the son of Fletcher and Minnie (Cooper) Clabaugh.
Mr. Clabaugh was a retired farmer and also retired after 34 years as manager of the Shelby Owls Club. He served on the boards of the Shelby Equity and the Richland County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. He also served as a Sharon Township Trustee.
Mr. Clabaugh is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth (Longworth) Clabaugh; 3 sons: Ted Clabaugh and Les Clabaugh both of Shelby and Mark Clabaugh of Westerville; 2 daughters: Mrs. James (Diane) Holtz and Mrs. James (Linda) Utz both of Shelby; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Julius Clabaugh of Shelby. He was preceded in death by 1 sister Leota McGuire and a grandaughter Brooke Utz.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, Pastor of the First Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League, American Heart Association or the First Lutheran Church and left at the funeral home.
