Helen M. (Sheely) Lash

Helen M. Lash, age 94, of 142 Leslie Lane, Shelby, died Monday, October 11, 1999 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital.

Mrs. Lash was born May 7, 1905 in Richland County, Ohio, the daughter of George and Minnie (Leonhardt) Sheely. She was a graduate of Tiro High School and was a former employee of the Shelby Salesbook. Mrs. Lash was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Shelby.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Donald and Jean Lash of Shelby; 4 grandchildren: Gerald “Benny” Lash, Lori Amicone, and Pamela Hess all of Shelby, and Stuart Lash of Dallas, TX; 10 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Benton P. Lash in 1976; 3 sisters: Bertha Johnson, Angeline Evans and Ruth Alexander; 3 brothers, Harry, Roy and Chester Sheely; and a step-granddaughter.

Private graveside services were conducted in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth by Larry Keinath. Memorial expressions may be made to Shelby Home and Public Health 142 North Gamble Street, Shelby or FISH, 17 Washington Street, Shelby. The family has seleced the Turner Funeral Home to assist them with funeral arrangements.
