Helen M. (Rudiak) Mihalko

Helen M. Mihalko, age 75, formerly of Huron, Ohio and Smokerun, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, December 25, 1996 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. She was born June 21, 1921 in Smokerun, Pennsylvania the daughter of Metro and Mary (Shutack) Rudiak.

On September 28, 1946, she married Nick Mihalko in St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Smithmill, Pennsylvania, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1987.

Mrs. Mihalko was a homemaker and was a member of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

She is survived by 2 daughters , Linda Mihalko of Lucas, Ohio and Debra Wadkins of Huron, Ohio; 1 son Dennis Mihalko of Norwalk, Ohio. 3 sisters, Christine Lucas of Westover, Pa.; Ann Bungo of Wichilffe, Ohio and Margaret Rusyn of West Decatur, Pa.; 2 brothers, Steve Rudiak of Bradenton, Fl.; and John Rudiak of Haines City, Fl.; 1 grandson, Larry Verhovec, Jr. of Elyria, Ohio and a step granddaughter, Julie Bush of Lakewood, Ohio;

She was preceded in death her parents, her husband, and 2 brothers, Wasco and Geroge Rudiak.

Calling hours will be on Friday, December 27, 1996, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 until 9:30 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home in Ramey, Pennsylvania. A Parastas service will be sung on Friday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father John Harvey, officiating. Burial will be in St. Vladimir’s Church Cemetery in Ramey, Pa.
