Helen M. (Moore) Sponseller

Helen M. Sponseller, age 74, formerly of Shelby, died Thursday evening in Mansfield General Hospital after a long illness. She was born June 10, 1921 in Shelby the daughter of Earl E. and Rachel M. (Mathews) Moore.

Mrs. Sponseller was a beautician and manager opening First Lady Beauty Salons all over the country. Prior to that she owned and operated The Beauty Salon in Plymouth. She was a 1938 graduate of Plymouth High School.

She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Trent and Linda Sponseller O.D. of Shelby; 1 daughter, Shawn R. Williston of Dallas, Texas; 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert Moore of Mansfield and David Moore of Mesa, Arizona; 3 sisters Grace Shoup of Mansfield, Nancy Bamberger of Williston, Florida, and Phyllis Mowry of Centre, Alabama.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Dr. Dave Asp, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Salvation Army, American Lung Association or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street; Shelby, Ohio 44875.
