Helen L. (Whitcomb) Light
Helen L. (Whitcomb) Light, age 70, formerly of 5510 Ganges Five Points Road, Shelby, died Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2000, in the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
Helen was born November 25, 1929 in Ashland, Ohio, and was a 40+ year employee of Allprints in Mansfield, eventually becoming a partner in its ownership until it was sold to Fuji Color Processing, Inc. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Helen is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Sue Alfrey of Newark, and Dale and Diana Alfrey of Shelby; a daughter and son-in-law: Melody and Jeff Kent of Powell; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 4 sisters: Lee Archer of Willard, Arlyce Ryan of Lakewood, Sue Hallam of Shiloh, and Jeanne Dole of Knoxville, TN; a brother, Mike Weaver of Dayton, and her father, Charles B. Whitcomb of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her mother, May (Kirk) Whitcomb-Weaver, and her husband, Don E. “Max” Light in 1996.
Callilng hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West
Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2000, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Don Cox officiating. Burial will be in Ganges Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
