Helen Elizabeth Williams

Helen Elizabeth Williams, age 95, of 162 West Main Street in Shelby died Monday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center. She was born March 11, 1898 in Shelby, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Risino) Williams.

Miss Williams was the assistant librarian at Marvin Memorial Library, retiring in 1968, with over fifty years of service. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Shelby and the Sara Seton Auxilliary at church. She was an avid bridge player.

Miss Williams is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, J. George and Doris Williams of Shelby; and one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Charles Feldner of Greer, South Carolina; 1 nephew, John Williams, 4 nieces: Julie Mlakar, Jane McClish, Michelle Stets, and Camille Feldner; 5 great nieces and nephews: John Mark McClish, Jeffrey McClish, Jessica McClish, Julie McClish, and John George Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by 1 sister, Dorothy E. Williams.

Calling hours will be one-half hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, in Shelby, wIth her pastor Father John Jorden officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

Memorial expressions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or the Marvin Memorial Library and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, which is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
